In the beautiful setting of the Aula Magna of the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara and live streaming, MGI promotes a workshop dedicated to Architects oriented to deepen the characteristics and methods of use of marble in architecture.
An in-depth look at the concept of environmental sustainability will be curated by Jette Catherin Hopp, Architect, since 2005 at Snøhetta, a prestigious international firm founded in Oslo that today has a staff of more than one hundred and eighty people from thirty countries distributed in two locations, in the Norwegian capital and in New York.
According to Snøhetta, the interdisciplinary and experimental approach animates articulated, multiscale interventions in the fields of architecture, landscape design and interior design and is expressed in numerous types of interventions: buildings for culture and education, architecture for offices and institutions, public spaces, hospitality and commercial facilities, and temporary structures.
The goal is a choral reflection on the use of marble in design, as well as understanding in what innovative ways it can contribute to widespread application, in relation also to sustainable use of natural resources.
