Natural stone is the first choice for decarbonizing responsibly since it allows for buildings in harmony with the ecosystem. In fact, an element that is extracted from the earth is not simply matter, but the sum of many factors that make one feel good, generate beauty and emotions. Marble, granite, and quartz are authentic, strong and durable materials ; they can contribute significantly to the achievement of LEED certification, an internationally recognized energy efficiency and environmental sustainability rating system.
>>> Carrara Marble Sustainability Manifesto
Therefore, we promote and protect the competitiveness of authentically natural stone >>> PNA those who choose it, choose sustainability. In addition, new technologies allow us to conserve resources and protect the environment. All processes, from quarrying to cutting, are carried out trying to limit as much as possible the impact resulting from the processing of stone products. One of the most delicate aspects concerns the management of waste, which, given its intrinsic nature, often involves considerable volumes. Starting from this awareness, we collaborate both with companies operating in the granulate industry, thus returning the material to the territory for the realization of road sub-bases and premixes for construction, and with the calcium carbonate powder industry (the main component of all marbles).
We also believe in renewable energy, which is why we have installed a photovoltaic system on the roof of our factory with a rated power of 300 kW. The system has an output of about 350,000 kWh of clean energy, which is totally used for self-consumption of the company's production processes.
