The positive performance of marbles grown and marketed by MGI was reconfirmed at the Mondo LCA Study, the first industry study to analyze the environmental impact of processed natural stone presented by the Authentic Natural Stone Business Network (PNA) at Marmomac 2024. This study stands out for its comprehensive view, examining the entire life cycle of natural stones, regardless of their origin, and represents an important step has just concluded the environmental analysis that determines the contribution of natural stone in terms of sustainability for our buildings.

Nicoletta Caruso - Vice President of Marmi e Graniti d'Italia Srl and Vice President 2022/24 of Confindustria Marmomacchine
"Sustainability is emerging as the most important and most difficult challenge to reconcile economic development with the need to safeguard the integrity of the environment, and this has always been a primary goal of my family. This is why MGI has joined the Life Cycle Assessment project for the second consecutive year. After the excellent performance revealed by the average environmental impacts of 1 square meter of 2 cm thick Caldia® marble slab with surface finish of 7.1 kgCO2 eq/m2, Bianco Carrara expresses a climate change impact of 12.3 kgCO2 eq/m2 and Botticino Classico of 12.1 kgCO2 eq/m2, all figures lower than the weighted average of the natural stones covered by the study that rewards KM0 processing and careful energy management." says Nicoletta Caruso, Vice President of Marmi e Graniti d'Italia Srl and Vice President 2022/24 of Confindustria Marmomacchine. "Therefore, the search for the highest standards of quality and sustainability is reconfirmed as the guiding thread of our work: not only in the finished product, but throughout the entire management and production process."
Due to its inherent characteristics, such as eco-friendliness, non-toxicity, insulation and fire resistance properties, our marbles represent an extremely durable material (it is eternal!) easily recyclable in waste reuse processes, thus absolutely consistent with the characteristics of the circular economy. They are therefore sustainable and environmentally friendly!
