Superstudio Più, as part of Design Week.
MGI will be present with Pietra Naturale Autentica at the upcoming Super Design Show in the Superstudio Più spaces at Via Tortona, 27 in Milan from April 18 to 23, to present "WE ARE NATURE": an installation that, between emotion and image technology, enhances the natural sustainability of stone and emphasizes the original strength that binds it to man. The MGI campaign was created with BARDIGLIO, CALACATTA CALDIA® and VERDE ISSORIE® marbles while the cube in CALDIA® Classico.
The concept revolves around the idea that stone belongs to man to the same extent that man belongs to stone: in the reciprocity of this relationship lie the fundamental and very current values of respect, conscious use, and sustainability. History has always represented not only our roots, but also the greatest source of inspiration: retracing backwards the fundamental stages of this long journey we rediscover a deep sense of belonging that sees man and stone united. So, only by starting from our origins can we imagine a more sustainable future.
After launching 'Naturally Sustainable' - the Natural Stone Sustainability Manifesto, PNA Network takes another step forward in the process of raising awareness about the "sustainable" aspects of natural stone. The presence within the international kermesse offers the opportunity on April 19 to also divulge the experience shared with the Polytechnic University of Turin and related to the LCA, Life Cycle Assessment, study, which lays the scientific basis for assessing the environmental footprint of natural stone throughout its entire life cycle . Comparing the environmental performance with a building material with similar intended use, the stone slab is more environmentally beneficial. In fact, from a comparison with available EPDs, ceramic tile has an impact ranging from 15.5 to 29.9 kgCO2 eq/m2, compared with an average impact of stone slabs of 7.9 kgCO2 eq/m2. In this context, the average environmental impacts of 1 square meter of 2-cm-thick Caldia® marble slab with surface finish are 7.1 kgCO2 eq/m2. This figure is lower than the weighted average of the Italian natural stones covered by the study, which rewards KM0 processing and careful energy management, confirming the ecological properties of marble, an excellent choice for combining beauty and sustainability.
