The MGI Group aims to strengthen its in-house StoneLAB laboratory dedicated to processing marble, granite and a wide range of natural stones, such as travertines and limestones.
For the most complex machining operations, those that require absolute precision, it is necessary to make use of appropriate instrumentation and machinery. Which is what MGI can achieve with its new 5-axis interpolated CNC bridge milling machine, thetechnological evolution of one of the most widely used tools in precision engineering. Suitable for cutting machining in circular and helical shapes, the milling cutter works on a linear and circular interpolation principle, all axes can move in unison allowing complete cutting, milling, shaping and contouring cycles. It is equipped with an automatic suction cup displacement system, together with a photographic system for scanning individual workpieces. Its wide versatility of use defines its ability to meet quality and quantity requirements.
Thanks to the high degree of efficiency in automatic, without operator intervention on board the machine, it also enables high-performance processing with modern safety standards. The presence of a protective plexiglass front shield ensures high process safety, as does the automatic locking in case of unauthorized opening.
There is also a growing focus on a smart energy management system: revamping of machinery allows for energy-efficient solutions capable of providing considerable cost reductions by considerably impacting efficiency and bringing not only energy but also environmental and economic benefits.
The activity of the workshop is of great importance: the work is carried out here directly. Each project is executed by merging ancient craftsmanship knowledge with the recent and innovative aesthetic canons of advanced computerized processing, to imprint each marble element with an incomparable touch of perfection, uniqueness and elegance. MGI follows every stage related to the execution of the job, from the choice of the block to delivery or installation, taking care of every single aspect of the workmanship, crucial to have control over it.
Paolo Agonigi, CEO, says, "At such a delicate time, MGI is betting on the modernization and upgrading of facilities dedicated to machining. The modernization of the laboratory with the 5-axis interpolated milling machine meets the requirements of an intelligent and sustainable industry, attentive to accurate energy use and environment."
